Panama City Beach, FL – May 1, 2009 – The Holiday Inn SunSpree Resort, Panama City Beach Florida, is proud to announce that the Polynesian Dance and Fire Show will return this summer! Starting May 11th, a dance troop of native Polynesian dancers will entertain our guests, on a high energy musical journey through the Polynesian Islands with the fast hip shaking dances of the Tahitians, the hula dance of the Hawaiian’s, and the Samoan fire/knife dance. This 45 minute show will take place on the pool deck Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday each week starting at 7PM.
The show starts with a high energy, Tahitian hip shaking dance that really gets the crowd going. Following that is the hula dance, then Kahui Pokipala, who does an amazing double flame sword dance. Guests watch in awe as he dances with flaming swords; once the fire goes out, guests can join in the fun and get a lesson in hula dancing!
After the show, guests can join in the fun! The dancers will teach our guests some of these island moves. Both the kids and the adults have had a great time learning from the performers.
Immediately following will be the ceremonial lighting of the torches and the passing out of Leis to all guests present.
